Poem
There was once a lonely girl Set far apart from others As though she is none like the rest Feeling like a black sheep everywhere She smiles everyday like the sun Not knowing others call her crazy As if it wasn’t enough that she was naive She was used and thrown aside Like a dirty rag, she felt down Abnormal as it was, it became normal. At that moment, she could only confide With her best friend up above That listens and comforts her to live on She trusted too easily as she was desperate To have friends by her side in her loneliness She chose the wrong company As well as being tortured mentally and physically Not understanding why, she blames herself Being harsh and sad, she cried daily She befriended an outcast thinking she was one. The outcast changed her She became happy yet troubled Now she has someone yet it felt odd She was even more of an outsider now Many adviced her to leave her Yet being naive she believed In this outsider that livens her life Not knowing she was a liar and faker That lonely girl was too late to realise That she betrayed her many times. Let it go, let it go, A phrase she repeats constantly To rid herself from regrets Her first love was an illusion Her first friend lied to her Betrayed her and ruined her Moving on,she went around with a group Though rough they were, they were fun She became rude not knowing She changed and began cursing. In the process, she fell in love Because she wanted to love herself She forgot her studies and fell In love with one she did not She experimented a lot But she never knew what lies within Only knowing the surface of love She did all she could for him Not knowing, she strayed far from love Not knowing, she fell into sin. Falling further and further away From love that was never there Let it go, let it go She began to say repeatedly All these bad choices of hers It’s time to let go and let live Although it may become a shame And become a scar that remains There is more joy in a home Than being in a company of bad eggs. Let it go, let it go It’s time to let go and let it be Although many regrets stay It shouldn’t hold you back Because everyday is a gift That some don’t even have The tomorrow that becomes a lesson Becomes my lesson of letting go It’s time to live in the present The time has come to let go of the past. -20/08/2017
