Poem
You were standing with your face held to the warm air. The sea licking your feet and your thoughts were all of her. For back at the apartment she would be lovingly cleaning your clothes and preparing your tapas supper. It had been a hard day at the time-share complex but you had made good deals and received the promotion which you had so longed for. In your mind you can see her as she will reach for you tonight after the balcony supper, caressing you the way that no other woman could and then love you between those metallic satin sheets. And then together they would lie in mutual satisfaction with the warm sea breeze occasionally lapping over their naked forms. You felt the small box in your pocket and smiled to yourself. Of course she would say yes to you. You were her soul mate. She had said so, and many times had breathed her love in sighs of passion. You turn back to the shore and still smiling you leave the deserted spot and whistle your way back to the apartment in an excited and happy way. You are almost running in your eagerness to be back home in her arms. Now you gaze at the four bars in front of you and can only imagine the light, the air and the sensation of the sea. Shouting comes from outside and a door is slammed. From beneath you the fat man is snoring and farting his way through the night. The air is stale with cigarettes and urine. Tears prick your eyes which are tired but show no sign of closing. Your eyes are focused upon the four bars, torturing yourself with the life outside. The life which you have now been forced to leave. You are shut away in here and nights and days merge into one. You have not slept for the four weeks that you have been here nor managed to hold down any of the slop that is dished out daily onto the green plate that you hold in your shaking hands. You torture yourself with images of her naked shape twisting around a man. But it isn't you! Watching as her head is thrown back, her long black hair slithers down her back as she writhes upon her lover. You feel the hear rise in your groin as you catch sight of her perfect breasts as she moves in passion. His face holds a look of sheer delight as she delivers her love. The metallic sheets shimmer under their forms. Then running, grabbing your knife, quickly now, running, your mind shattered. And then the blood you saw from her and her lover as they lay in front of you displaying all. The metallic sheets now oozed a dark red. The many holes you made you did not know. Twenty...thirty...you did not count and you did not care. Instead you left hem and they found you sobbing, holding the bloodied knife against your face. The half bottle of champagne you had been saving to mark your engagement now lay smashed all over the tiles. And now you are here. You have been told it is your doing but you do not believe this to be so. Instead your mind invents the fantasy as your memory becomes all of your thoughts.
