Poem
The cause and the cure I cannot intervene, I can only remember With them both to their passing, they in me now live on forever A past never can be changed and their memories I have lived The longest of time, moments before for after… I believed And here I stand atop a mountain overlooking The Ancients Riding with the air, the wind blew from an undying distance Yet all I can see, all I ever knew to be true is only to live on If not for this world, will be another world I’m sadly to belong And I live because I have to… for a cause not of my own Simply born from a war will death be of peace be known And I wonder, I do wonder how far from tranquility I am Till the sweet release of death can find me to befriend High above, only they will know the reasons why Yet all I can see is Ei-rian through the clouds upon the sky Alkaiya is holding onto me, embracing me from behind Because of lost being the cause will tears we ever find As well as me she grieves with reasons to belong to her own Reasons rather I not enquire for it’s hers only to bear alone As far as the eye can ever see, nothing ever belongs to be We are afterall only humans beneath the skin to be made we And no more do I know to know what is there to be after To know an end of life where dreams no more will last forever She is gone… and as good as dead I am to become afterall For not only has she strip me of my will but of dreams to recall Alike The Askance with words, she bequeath me with dreams And through visions rendered I’m to understand its means Without her, the enigma remains an enigma as how it should be Without her, a heeded voice cannot be heard to become a memory Memories… like droplets into water to only ripple away Massing immeasurably with ease for simply yet another day Gradually intensifying itself beyond any subconscious mind Growing relentlessly for even the simplest of mind to unwind And I see a memory through the eyes belonging to once a he He who walks upon ancient grounds with once as well… a she Rather… they be running towards a never nearing receiving end While bearing down foes on sheer whims found in any one man And all the time he has proven only once more to be safeguarding her The two who fell in love beyond their knowledge for Heavens to interfere A Knight condemned, a human forgotten became The Askance I knew And now me, modern and distasteful, distance and anew
