 Wild and Free

Just a small child
she knew nothing of strife
She laughed and she played
just six years of life

Her joys were simple, 
you must understand
the grass and the flowers, 
the pebbles and sand
All of her toys, 
were part of this land

She danced in the rain, 
all naked and wild
not a care in this place
A happy young child 

Her parents were poor
this, she did not see
as she ran through the fields 
and climbed the trees

She knew nothing of heartache
in this wilderness
Her young life filled with 
natures magical bliss

Oh to be, how I used to be
This innocent young child
running wild and free.
