You had every thing going right for you but you got it all wrong
When you needed her, she was there for you to fall on
You didn't treat her right so now she's gone
I'm going to treat her right because you did her wrong

You had a great girl, with a good heart and you took advantage of that
I guess you thought you could treat her wrong and she'd always come back
But I came along and took her off you because she deserves better
You can hate me and call me names, but it doesn't change the fact we're together

I'm holding her tight and making her forget all the times you disrespected her
You didn't care enough and should have protected her
But you were more interested in partying, drinking And going out with friends
Yet you still act shocked And wonder why it had to end

You can hate us all you want but she's in a better place
With a man who likes her and respects her, and makes her feel safe
I'm glad you messed up, because I got a great girl
You didn't deserve her in your world

Every guy has to lose his dream girl at a young age so he can grow
Most use it to learn and realise how to go about love once they recover from the blow
I hope you learn from your mistake and treat your next girl better
You did her wrong, so I took her off you and now we're together
