Poem
I asked him these questions, I did not believe that I would receive these types of responses. He is truly one who is, misunderstood. He had a rough childhood, and I believe that it had made him stronger throughout his life. His parents had split up when he was at a very young age, his mother had ventured off, and married. His father on the other half has not talked to another woman since. At points he and his father had been at very low points of their lives, with almost to no money. Gage had told me, “Once you’ve been that low, you’d do almost anything to not go back there,” and he does truly believe that these occurrences have changed him as a person, forever. He never listened to his father about girls, he explained to me how his father would always essentially ‘bad mouth’ women, and he would tell him how women, and girls are nothing but trouble. Gage had informed me about the rumors and stories that go around about him, he stated, “I didn’t listen to him, but not listening to him has given me a certain type of exposure to people all around the state and world I guess." I questioned, “What is your biggest fear in life?” He had replied with, “That’s really hard to say… I’m not afraid of death to say, but I’m more afraid of getting hurt and having to deal with the pain.” As soon as I read that response, it made me think. I felt as if I could relate to him in a way. So I soon asked about how his trust is for others and if he was open with his trust. But he is not, after everything that had happened with his parents, in past relationships when he had been cheated on, and also when his so called ‘friends’ had done things with the girls he had been in a relationship with. He had told me that there were two people that he has full trust towards, a girl with the name of April and I. Overall, I do believe that he is one who is very misunderstood. Past all of the rumors and stories he is one that is kind-hearted, caring, trustworthy, and passionate. Do not be one to make a quick assumption, because once you become close to someone that others tell you to be careful around, you might find something that nobody else spent time looking for. The quote, “Do not judge a book by its cover” is a very true statement, you may have to spend hours on end looking for something that nobody else could find, but that does not mean you should give up. All of that time you spent looking for those certain things, it could have a great result and you may be happy with the outcome.
