Inspiration comes in many forms
And might not follow accepted norms
It could be the long red fingers of flame
Still burning in campfire despite the rain
Or maybe from memories of lost love
That defy the healing time thought of
The smell of spring flowers and fresh cut grass
That bring to mind visions of youthful past
The chair that sits under the kitchen table
And reminds you of your grand dad’s fables
A star shining bright against the night sky
And leaves one alone and questioning why
Everything has it’s own story to tell
And each in its time will a writer compel
