Poem
This isn't about me, I'm going to write with a different concept You could be having a great day, then slip and fall in one step Maybe this wouldn't have happened if you'd gone left We always over analyze our mistakes and misfortune We'll always be judged even without a courtroom You could be a saint, leave your house and have a crazy man pull a knife on you They don't know who you are, but still proceed to take the life from you Turn on the news, and see a kid that's five also died with you He got hit by a stray bullet in a drive by shooting Now the murderers are trying to hide their movements A 15 year old girl at school is getting called names because she's sleeping around Little do the bullies know, her dad raped and beat her down Now she's sleeping with guys to feel some kind of affection Teachers don't notice anything wrong, because she acts normal in lessons These things happen daily, yet we'll never have the answers I thought it was hard growing up without a dad but it could have been worse Because there are people who have a dad who loved them and he's now fighting cancer They have to watch him suffer, knowing they can't prevent the hurt They're about to lose someone who's been there for them their whole life Which is always going to be a lot harder to take My biological sperm donor died on February 25th 2007, but God didn't take a father away We all have an ex we miss Trying to think of the perfect words to text them with But we don't out of fear Yet we'll regret it when their heart stops and they're no longer here We'll always talk about it can't be fixed right now But their car could flip right now They're left on a life support machine, and you get a call, saying "we've got to hit the switch right now" So they're gone and they're never coming back You're left with regret until you become numb from that So then you become cold and heartless Walk down a road of darkness The love that you used to have is now missing When you look at all of this, hopefully you start to look at life different
