Here I thought my life sucked and then you barged in
You gave me synthetic happiness and even a little grin
You treat me off and on; at your will as you please
You tell me you love me then you act as If I don’t appease
I have been hurt far too many times; I can’t fall for it again
You tell me wonderful things then you act as if I have never been

Tell me your secrets for I know you have something to hide
I know there is a wickedness which dwells within you deep inside
Illusion of happiness is only for a temporary high
You get what you need from me then you watch me die
If you just don’t feel the same you should really let me know
I like to play with fire and with it make this wind blow

I am an ember which you breathe on me to stay lit
You like to watch me burn for a while and then want to forget 
Towards the end of the night you leave me to fear in fright
The next day it seems alright; your passion and love for me appears to be right
It’s hard to understand since you barely let me see as you unplug the cord
You have something to hide; another passion or love or are you just bored?

I know I cling which is not a good thing to do
I feel a rage inside of me which tears me apart in two
Go on you will miss me when I appear to be gone
Things used to be different; the flirtatious need to fawn
I guess I’m not that great as I already knew this from before
Go on just leave so unexpected and slam the unforgiving door

I really love you and would drop everything for your needs
You tell me the same thing but your actions fulfill other deeds
I think it’s time I grew up and stopped playing silly games
It’s time to get serious and grow a shell to deflect the meaningless claims
I will always love you but I feel so confused
Do you love me or just feel the need to use
