She said "I can't be with you, you've got such a big ego"
I replied, "I was bullied and people left my confidence at Zero"
I did a lot of working on myself and had to become my own Hero
So I won't apologize for having a big ego

I found love in myself, that was something no one showed me
I bandaged my own scars with no one to hold me
I was kicked while I was down, by people who were supposed to help there
I went from the self-harming loner, to popular guy with gelled hair

I was bullied and called names, so I had to compliment myself
Had to ignore everyone else, and begin to build my confidence, myself
Made to feel worthless, but I saw the good in me
Realized it's their loss for what they couldn't see

Parents put me in care at age 3, which made me feel no one could ever like me
Had depression everyday trying to fight me
I used to beat myself down for it and judge myself
So I won't apologize that I found a way to love myself

Had some girls say I wasn't worth a chance
Had others say I didn't deserve a dance
Got with the most beautiful girl, then they all came crawling
And I just ignored them when they were calling

You didn't want me at my worst, you don't deserve my best
Dated a lot of females, now I'm trying to find the one who's worth my chest
Don't tell me you love me, you need to show it first
I refuse to apologize because I finally know my worth
