Poem
Fifteen years of togetherness seemed so short after her loss, He spent all night twisting and turning, the poor man didn't get any sleep, While he touched the empty side of their bed, memories with her would cross, His confused mind,he cradled his head in his hands and started to weep, As he remembered nights when laughter would haunt the room as they'd toss, Pillows everywhere until both would get tired and fall asleep, The sun came up and he was still weeping, his wounds were eternal and deep, Oh, the mourning morning has just begun. Restless and worn out he got out of bed, Keeping in mind that she is forever gone, His denial goaded him to pour the morning coffee in two cups instead, Of just one, He stared at her glass-framed picture and heard a voice that said, "Good morning dear..",and then he found that his falling tears had already begun, To mix with the coffee and make it bitter,he regretted many things he had done, Oh, the mourning morning has just begun. " Nothing could ever replace our everlasting togetherness.." He'd stammer out the same phrase over and over again with a heart full of pain, " I've done you wrong,I must confess.. For years I hid the fact that you meant the world to me,I.. I just can't explain.. How I feel,I'm a dried up sea.. I'm.. I'm suffering from emptiness.. If I don't regain, At least one more night with you.. I swear I'll go insane.. " Oh, the mourning morning has just begun. Aching with agony,he turned her glass-framed picture to the other side, Seconds later,he unconsciously sat on the other side to contemplate her face, Frustrated,he collected all her pictures and decided to hide, Them in her closet for pain was filling up all the space, In his heart,he cried, the poor man lost his bride, And then he went to work to replace, Her image, that he so badly wanted to erase, Oh, the mourning morning has just begun. He came back from work and started to prepare dinner, And that dried up sea he referred himself to,got even drier, He deserved what he got,and his nights became even dimmer, Unconsciously,he left the kitchen with two cups of coffee and the strong desire, To see her face once again,he ran to their bedroom quicker, Than he has ever ran before, and as he opened her closet flames of fire, Burnt out his heart,he cried " Amy, come back! I need you ! " and he was no liar.. Oh, the mourning morning has ended, and the mourning night has just begun...
