God Is Not A Day Job
 
God does not owe me anything.
He is not in debt to me.
 
I’ve found that that’s the way
I’ve been treating Him.
I’ve been treating Him like
He’s an hourly wage job, like
he’s a payroll clerk
that left a bunch of hours
off my check.
 
But how can I put Him in
the same category as my
day job?
 
With a job you get what you
earn, because your labor puts
your job in debt to you until payday.
If your paycheck is short you
have the right to find out
why, because they didn't pay you
what you earned. 
 
But we can’t earn anything
that God gives us- it's all a
gift.
 
 
And God’s gifts don’t have a
regulated pay period like a
job does.
 
He gives what He wants, when He
wants, according to His will.
He knows when we can’t handle
a blessing and when He needs to
withhold it until we can.
 
He also knows when to instantly
let you have what you want.
 
He knows.
 
God is not a day job,
He’s God.
