DAUGTHER
I might have been harsh to you, the worst mother maybe
But I have seen you grow to a beautiful woman
Seeing your strength and your weakness
That now I know that this harsh world can’t hold you back

Though am not scared of yesterday when I saw you shade tears
I wanted to be the one you ran too
To find yourself, to look for your strength
But it’s okay with Ruth, I like her around you

Child I want to tell you that sometimes we make choices
They might hurt a little but we are supposed to face them
I know you love Nicolas very much
Your eyes always lit whenever they said his name
But Nico didn’t have dreams of a future
Yes, he loved you but love is just not enough

Loving someone is another thing girl
But provision and standing by your side is different
Sometimes those we love don’t love us enough
And those we care for a little can give their all 
To see us smile, make it to the top

I believe that love comes softly and slowly
Don’t stick with a boy who will hurt you 
Don’t fear to move on and try out there
For no man is perfect but we always work it out 
Little by little and we find happiness in this world

God has never given a child stones when they ask for bread
But that never means he gives them the flavor they ask for
For he has always known what’s best for a child 
Now let go of Nico and wait or your best 

And never forget that first love is great 
Only if you don’t give a chance to the second
Don’t compare but appreciate the second
You will then forget that you had something before
