lesson learned of not taking the bull by the horns there's this elderly man sitting in the front of the bus he's a picture of cheerfulness and mostly goodness there were also a few other passengers standing ... at the next bus stop two gray haired ladies get on no one budges out of their seats, why including myself, why, to offer them my seat after all the elderly ladies are on the frail side and have balance issues I was sitting somewhere in the middle, when this elderly man then gives up his seat he sees that his actions were necessitated as no one else would give up their seat this is truly a good person one can tell right away he is a proud man, there's patriotism and boy-scout manners painted all over him he had that effect, his family should be proud one can also tell he is a special bred, I did I don't know about the others for it seems like all the other passengers had their noses in their I Phones I kept starring at the old man he must have been nearing his 80's proud, proud ...I could see overall he looked healthy a little wobble in the knees and hips, though his blue eyes prominent and when I watched him he kept smiling smiling, as if his voice wanted to say something but you could also see by his expression he was upset that no other passengers gave their seats to him many of which where in their 20's, healthy, still with noses in their I Phones and oblivious It was sad to watch for five stops nobody gave up their seats, why by now I could see he was still smiling, you see probably saying to himself of what cowards these passengers are this is sad, real sad, i didn't see I could even see him muttering under his breath I must admit there was smoke coming out of my ears as to why nobody... offered their seats to him by now the elderly man was somewhat at the middle of the bus next to me ... my chance to give him faith in mankind was right in front of me .. i muffed, i miscued, lapsed ..i don't know what was in my head it can't be good, having cuckoo birds flying inside I was so distraught at the others, excuses i know I forgot myself, and my own manners, more excuses i was so consumed at what others were doing, their neglect ... i didn't take the bull by the horns and be a solution ... instead sidestepping the problem. i look back i'm ashamed That's the lesson learned, fortunately for the elderly man the passenger load lightened up and he got his seat still a picture of goodness, smiling ... he did connie pachecho 2/11/17
