Poem
I don't expect much Oh I may long for your touch But I do know the difference Between fantasy And reality So I don't expect much I don't expect your kiss Even though it's you That everyday I heartbreakenly miss Here being lonely in this place Yet there's so much going on in this space I'm left alone with my rememberence and lace When I close my eyes I still clearly see your face But this is where my mind has learned to live with that pace No I don't expect much I don't expect to hear your voice Seems with this I have no choice You won't answer when I call Return calls nope none at all I don't expect much I don't expect to once again Have your arms around me Or to feel your love surround me I hold on tightly hoping Maybe someday you will to see What I've known for some time is meant to be The love that still exists Between you and me I don't expect much I don't expect to be friends Although why should we pretend That being apart our hearts had mended We both know it shouldn't of ended The way it did From who we once were we ran and hid But here we are faced with these feeling once again Don't get me wrong Friends I would take Yes even if my heart forsakes I know I have to be strong So I don't expect much I don't expect any of the above I do so much wish to give to you my love Many times I've tried to give up and let go But your memory is to strong And to it I could never say no So to this I surcome and the emotions carry on Yes even though I know it may be wrong Expectations may not be high No flying here, no reaching the sky To you I can never completely say goodbye But there's hope It's always here I look around and hope is everywhere In my eyes no other man to you Can be able to come close to compare To the man in you I've seen Thunder may only happen When it's raining But now is the time for the rain to wash us clean And be true to each other Most importantly we need to be true to ourselves Stop putting our love on the shelf Look around see what you Haven't yet been able to seem to find Out love don't have to still be blind Don't walk away this time Please take me with you don't leave me behind I really may long for all this and more Just like I've done before I may hope and such But honestly I don't expect much... ...been saying that all along like a damned broke record playing a sad old song
