Poem
Broken Nevermore Out along a sunrise stroll, a garden’s early view, I find the most enchanting scene of vibrant colored hue. When there upon the walking stones with tattered wings I see, a butterfly of saddened tears right there in front of me. I pick her up within my hand, so gentle this caress, her sorrow now engulfing me of this I must confess. “Oh butterfly so frail and small, so broken do you lay, what brings this torment to your heart this wondrous springtime day?” “Kind sir, I fear that I must die for choices I have made. As in one garden I have lived but now my heart has strayed. I flew along a garden path so far beyond the gate, left the ones I loved behind, afraid it is too late.” “A flower found of wondrous scent, such beauty it does bring. Offering affection pure, a touch of fragile wing? Then why so sad if neath this sky of sun filled warming feel, you’ve found a bloom of fragrance sent so perfect and so real?” “It’s only me of faded wish, my heart can not decide, Torn between these garden views so much I long to hide. These tattered wings I’ve done myself on stems of green I’ve torn, it seemed the thing that I should do on sharp and pointed thorn.” “Oh butterfly of beauty seen, your tears have touched me so. As many gardens wait for you, I just want you to know. There’s only so much we can do when hearts come into play, my thoughts are that to follow yours would be the best this day.” “And if this flower of nature’s scent is all that it may seem, then flap your wings in nectarous flight and fly off to your dream. For life you see is very short, these risks you’re thinking of, will bring your beauty back in sight, when you are filled with love.” “So fly my friend this destined flight to petals that do wait, look no further than you heart for it is not too late. Springs has come to touch the earth in days that we adore, now fly, amazing butterfly, be broken nevermore.” When then just like a miracle within this moment shared, I noticed that her wings were full, somehow had been repaired. A smile came upon her face as she was now brand new, for now she felt these dreams of hers were destined to come true. “Thank you sir,” she whispered as her flower she did seek and fluttered so her wings would brush so gently on my cheek I felt a tear form in my eye as I watched her depart, but knew this little butterfly would live on in my heart.
