Poem

It's the old saying,
"Trouble comes in big bunches"
And hence, let me tell my tale.

If you are familiar with my writes,
You know me better than my shrink,
Sometimes you're the pristine white paper,
Sometimes spilled Indigo black  ink,

I've told of musical highs,
And musical lows,
But unless you are a musician,
It's perhaps something no one else knows....

Music my passion, even above poetry....
Something you feel,
Nothing one can see...

When "it's smokin', when it's" clicked in a groove"
And those out there before you,
Can't help but to move.....

The high is so high,
More ecstactic than,
Love, sex, or drugs,
Even those treasured,
Joyful, embracing love hugs...

But a two edged sword,
Can as easily bring on deep throes,
So, last weekend, at rehearsal,
And, so it oft goes...
I found my band there and then desired,
Keeping me unplugged,
Seems I was henceforth fired...

But I've been thru this scenerio,
Several times in the past,
40 years of musical experience,
Proved that I can last....

And each time this has happened,
Like the Pheonix I arise,
And prove to all concerned,
They were in for a surprise,
Cause such challenges ignite....
Increased levels,
Of testosterone pride,
And musical abilities,
Now want to go on the ride...

Like a cornered tiger,
Claws ready,
Sharp teeth bared,
Ready to fight....
I pull out all the stops,
And  arise to such a height,
My talent is on fire,
It is quite a sight....

So, now, I'll create my own band,
And someday , if they're lucky,
I'll hire them as our opening act,
And they'll be the flunky...."
