Poem
There was a little girl named Angel. Who had such a beautiful spirit and was cute as she could be. Angel had a heart of gold, everytime she could help someone in need she would. The sisters in the orphanage loved the child so much. They prayed daily that their little "Angel" would get a loving home. But until then they vowed to show her how much she was loved. One day Sister Sarah saw little Angel was sad. "What's wrong child? Why are you sad? "Christmas is coming soon and you know I love you and the other Sisters and the other children".With tears in her big brown eyes she continued. " I want to be adopted. I want a mommy and daddy for christmas." "Please don't cry child. I know you want that child. I want that for you as well. But in the meantime remember that we all love you here. You a very special little girl. Come, let's you get you cleaned up couples are visiting us today." Angel began to wipe her face and a small smile appeared her sweet face." Oh boy, maybe my christmas wish will come true after all." Run along child." As soon as the child left the room. Sister Sarah wept and and prayed that the precious child would not only get a home, but a loving home with loving parents that would love her as their own flesh and blood. Later on that evening several young couples came in with adoption on their minds. Some were looking for a specific gender, some were looking for babies and some wanted school age children. Little "Angel was six and a half. She wasn't a baby and she wasn't what you call big either, she was somewhere in between. A sweet young couple came in and they said they wanted a girl between 5 and six. Mother Rose thought of "Angel" instantly . However the most astonishing thing was sweet "Angel" bore a striking resemblance to the young mother. She pondered the thought could this be the child's mother? But then thought quickly it was just a mere coincidence. " Hello Sir and Mam, I think I have the child for you. Her name is "Angel" and she is six years old. Would you like to meet her? " And unison they both said"Yes". Moments later Mother Rose returned with the child. And Mary Williams almost fainted. in her chair. For it was like looking at a miniature version of herself. Instantly she went down memory lane she was 17 years old when she got pregnant by her childhood boyfriend. They were young and inlove, they had their whole lives ahead them. That all changed when she got pregnant. He wasn't ready to be a father and he insisted she abort the child. She couldn't and they broke up month later. Her parents were disappointed and ashamed of her. They sent her to a home for unwed mothers to be.She stayed their for her entire pregnancy .She gave birth and never saw her little girl again."Honey are you okay?" Her husband asked lovingly. "I'm fine dear. That is the child I want. If she will have us. Little "Angel and Mother Rose were as happy as can be." "Yes mam I would like that very much. I always wanted. my very own mommy and daddy." She turned to Mother Rose and began to cry because she loved the old lady very much. The nuns and the other children in the orphanage were the only family she knew. As they said their goodbyes she left as she was. She didn't want any of her things, she gave the little things she had to her closest friends to remember her by. When they arrived home "Angel" couldn't believe her eyes. She thought to herself is mommy and daddy rich? Meanwhile Mary Williams looked in her husband in the eyes and said" Sweetheart I think that's my baby in there.I don't want to get my hopes up (because she's mine no matter what) . But honey wouldn't that be a miracle if we found my baby girl?" "You mean wouldn't that be a miracle if we found our baby girl?" TO BE CONTINUED 12-10-16 Alexis Y.
