Poem

I just read a poem about the good ole’ days. 
It brought back many good memories.
 Today our lives are so rushed, 
we never stop to think, 
of the grass how it grows, 
or a simple little wink. 
And what is in the wilderness?
 Fresh air and solitude too, 
and yes if you open your mind
 there are lots of things to do. 

Swimming in the creek or fishing in the pond. 
These are  a few of the things that are such fun. 
Yes you have to be careful, 
because animal live there too. 
They don’t like intruders, 
they just do the things they do. 
Go on about their business 
maybe eating something new.
So when you visit the out-of-doors, 
this is what you are; a visitor of course, 
maybe riding in your car. 
And please oh please be careful 
of the animals too,
 for they know not  what roads are, 
but just an empty spot. 
Sometime they will linger for a moment or two,
 but then be on their way, 
hunting that something new.

Lets us all respect the out-of-doors, 
where we go to have our fun, 
and keep in mind of forest floors, 
they are not to be undone.
Your trash bin is not the side of the road,
Was never meant to be, 
but are the places where animals roam 
and were meant to be free. 
Respect is a key word here, 
is a simple thing to do,
lets  keep things looking new.
