As a child, I was taught that God created everything
But when I went to school,
the theory of evolution was the accepted doctrine

That kinda teaching didn't sit well with my parents,
they gathered the kids around, read us the riot act
Their voices dripped with scorn, and they didn't hold back

They said listen here,
don't you believe that crap
If you think a monkey's your uncle,
then you're a simple sap

They said, search the scriptures,
see what God says
And every since then, that's how I'm led

Now I'm a spiritual man, I'm a free thinker too
Yes, I'm a man of faith,
but scientifically trained to take a rational view

So let me lay out my case
against the evolution theory
Give you my pointed rebuttal,
as to why it makes me so leery

Supposition number one,
and it's all I really need
to debunk this theory
that got more holes than Swiss cheese

Survival of the fittest,
and only the strong survive
This is the bedrock of the theory of evolution,
but it's all just jive

God said He created everything,
and we are the sheep of His flock
God said He was our strong refuge
from all dangers within and without

And if you know anything about animals,
then you know sheep are the meekest of them all
Man's theory says only the strong can survive,
only the strong will evolve
But God said that the weakest animal will inherit this green ball

A sheep has no sharp teeth, no sharp claws
They are not predatory,
they don't have a mean streak in them at all
So how did they evolve?
Who protected them when we were supposedly swinging in a tree,
who watched over them when we were in a cave fast asleep?
They are the easiest animal to kill,
possessing no survival skill
So how did they evolve,
how were they able to survive and live?
Tell me this if you will

According to the evolution theory,
a sheep doesn't have what it takes
to flourish in the gene pool
It's weak, it's defenseless
It should've got eaten alive
in the first grade of survival school

How did the penguin and the dolphin survive,
how did the sparrow and the dove live?
Please answer me this if you will

According to Darwin's theory,
they should all be extinct
None of these meek creatures should be around today,
so what's the common denominator, what's the link?

God declared we are His sheep,
and Satan is the strong lion devouring
God protects the weak now,
like He protected them back then
That's just how it is,
that's how it's always been

The theory of evolution is a bunch of hooey,
but believe it if you want to
I melted that Swiss cheese, made it real gooey
