Never take love for granted, Look into my eyes, That is the whole meaning behind this life, My mourning never left me to purposely see, To love harder, to care more personally, I've gotten burned by people who's intent was wrong, And in that moment evil strikes at me, I remember our song, I remember our laughter, I remember our tears, I remember the love we shared for so many years, I never thought you would die, your heart was so strong, You always gave me the strength to carry on, A rock of a man with a heart of gold, My lover, my companion, the other half of my soul, In disbelief, I cried out to God, please tell me why!, You would take away the one man who completed my life, Ten yrs later, I'm standing alone, Everyone has someone, as I pretend not to show, At every family function, at every church event, At every store I go to, I see couples hand in hand, How often do I look up into the sky, To say I know your still with me with tears in my eyes, Do I live for the dream, do I live through the unseen, A passion so strong only faith in love can see, God has brought me through this brokenness to bring my heart truth, That the time is now to take chances, that you love with all of you, To forgive quickly and easily, for love has no bounds, With no regret of speaking the love you know, for this was were your heart was found, To stand from the outside looking in, the beauty beneath the fear, To love the smiles that cover the hurt, who see happiness through their tears, To take time to hear their story, and value the time well spent, To be the last one left in the parking lot listening to their lament, With the patience to listen and share in their suffering, encouragement stands at the door, When love has no fear of running away, God opens your heart to see more, So in my losses that have left me crippled, yet, I will not limp to heavens gate, For in my loss, I found true love on a million people's face, Death showed me a face of fear in terror, my heart came out of my chest, Yet, that heart was meant to come out into the open to experience love at its best, For the future would account to more than what I thought I would see, And the fear death dished out gave my heart wings, A boldness to love, even more, To stand in love in the midst of a storm, Yes, many got the best of me, and that's what I'm willing to give, You can call me a fool, a fool in love, this freedom of love will live.
