Poem
If you can hear this emergency broadcast, we urge all citizens to remain in their homes The quarantine has been breached, and there now is panic in the streets ... It's going down, just like all of the holy prophets said A man-made scourge has spread out; and if it infects you, you're as good as dead Patient zero was actually a lab critter, who escaped somehow and produced a ravenous litter They in turned bit an unsuspecting government worker He was the first of those now known simply as Berserkers Now everything as gone dark, the situation seems bleak and dire It's not safe to go out, especially at night You hear incessant screams everywhere, you hear the constant gunfire The food supply you have is starting to run low It's just a matter of time before you're going to have to venture outside the door and search for some more There's panic in the streets ... a societal meltdown No Messiah to stop the madness ... civilization is burning to the ground Once you're outside, you have to watch out for more than just the Crazies There's danger from friendly fire, and even all the animals are in revolt You're under siege everywhere, billows of black smoke pollutes the air No encounters thus far, so you hot wire a fast car You rather take your chances out in the open, then being trapped, cowering and hoping the government saves you and clean up their mess There's panic in the streets ... no return to the norm No savior to stop the sadness ... woe to those who will be born There's pestilence, there's panic Rumors are being spread, about a safe haven somewhere up the eastern coast of the Atlantic But that's not where you're going, you're heading west to the mountains Before you die, you're going to breathe some rare air Go to the type of place where the holy prophets said they met God there
