Poem
My BELOVED...how did I find a suture to my soul and mind- our eyes first met I was so blind, offered a gracious heart, so kind. Before romance love was defined, I swear the Lord had it designed. Our souls and hearts became entwined, now we’re passion and trust combined- before death takes me please remind me that our love outweighs mankind. I can’t resist your sweet embrace, you tenderly caress my face. You stole my heart without a trace, our love soars throughout time and space. Please gently remove my white lace; o, take me to our sacred place. Let’s take this at a slower pace; you are my addiction, (my chase). You treat me with adoring grace, love making release…just in case. I promise to love only you- throughout the years, oh how we grew. Please take my hand let’s say I do, and have some babies, one or two! I’ll whisper love’s secret so true. You walked in my life right on queue; I’ll bring you joy when you are blue, we’ll make some magic all night through. For great men like you there are few- tonight your silhouette I drew. Believe me when I state my vow, you love me so- I wonder how. As you tenderly wisp my brow with soul and desire, (I’ll allow). Ask when I need you, I'll state now, sweet adoration I’ll endow. They wonder who I love, it’s thou, you promised you won’t disavow. You are my king I’ll always bow, and so darn handsome, I think “WOW!” I’ll walk beside you not behind, love's true guarantee has been signed. Your love I shall never replace, I’ll never treat you with disgrace. Memories of kisses you blew, you’re love I’ll never misconstrue. In death, I’ll keep living somehow, your touch I'll never disallow. For you’re God’s greatest creation… I swear love and dedication. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Form: "LUDix-rym" 5 rhyming stanzas- 10 lines per stanza 8 syllables in each line Rhyme Scheme: Stanza 1 - a x 10 Stanza 2 - b x 10 Stanza 3 - c x 10 Stanza 4 - d x 10 Stanza 5 - aabbccddee Date written - November 3, 2016 Judged - October 6, 2019 N-A rerun 4 Poetry Contest Sponsor - John Hamilton ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
