Poem
There was a young man lived under a curse, For having the gall to tempt fate. He's played fast and loose with the daughters of whose, Was a warlock whose powers were great. This handsome young man had a profile so grand, Girls flocked to his beck and call. He'd take them and use them and then he'd just lose them. For him life was one big ball. The story is told that the girls were bold. Life and love for them was a game. They were beauties for sure and though far from pure, Next to this man these girls were tame. Their father loved them, put nothing above them, They were his little girls, And as promising witches his whole life enrich-ed, The pride and the joy of his world. He sent for the man, before him he'd stand, And account for his crimes, the churl. The young man accepted, thought he'd been elected, As bride groom for one of the girls. He invited him in for drinks in his den, And the young man came with a smile. He thought for sure he would be adjured, To marry his daughter in style. The young man kept his date and met with his fate, And he never was seen again. The old man came out and looked 'round about, And smiled as he held out his hand. A tiny gold chain, And engraved with their names a locket of purest gold. Inside you could see a man, could it be, Trying to break free of it's hold.
