Poem
What makes a man a man? What makes him special? What makes him stand out? What makes him good? Floating through my youth I had dreams of being a wife, One day having children and living the perfect life. Loving me unconditionally is what I wanted in a hubby, I didn’t care his race, height or even if he was chubby. If I was to think about what makes a man good, Counting all the attributes I don’t think I could. Most importantly to me is that with himself he’s happy, Loves me unconditionally, and if he’d make a good daddy. Secure in our relationship holding true confidence, Before acting out of impulse remember the consequence. A good man reveals intimacy in ways a woman desires, When passion is ignited he’s the one who starts the fires. When you love a good man, looks are never important, He’s already beautiful in your eyes as he’s genuinely accordant. He takes pride in his wife and shows her utmost respect, And at the end of the day, a sweet kiss is all he does expect. True goodness comes from deep faith in the Lord, Money doesn’t matter when love’s all he can afford. Calling throughout the day just to say a quick “I love you”, When he looks into your eyes he sees your true value. Those are just a few things that makes a man good in partnership, But what makes a man good in other social relationships? Honest loyalty to his friends is an important thing to have, And when with them all they do is mess around and laugh. A wonderful son who visits his mother when he can, And an over protective brother when his sister is in pain. A fighter for the righteous and a forgiver when there’s a fault, He must have love for his country, never put education on halt. A good man can be a combination of many different qualities, But most importantly he must give his love in much deserved quantities. *Dedicated to a good man, my husband Nicholas* A Good Man Lewis Raynes October 28, 2016
