I need a blank page to write on
and endless brilliant plane
to learn and walk
through my thoughts
for the very first time again

The impulse is for always more
in the quietness that is
a soul that breaks
it's body's great
desire to make noise

Our bones and skin and everything
we've borrowed from the ground
but the soul, the gift
will forever lift
the body broken down

There is heat that travels skyward
through the heels of us all
to blend in with
the cooling mist
that from the beyond falls

What shadows exist without the light
the darkness is our plane
to drift in bare
and softly dare
ourselves to there remain

It is the constant pulse of time
that returns us to this place
a waking mind 
an opening eye
and dreams that drift like lace

If I had been there at the start
I could have helped myself
and anyone 
who dared to come
with nothing on their shelf

The rolling clouds that hang above
will all let go the rains
to show that love
is more than just
a name beside a name

I found the page so very blank
I could not write a word
where nothing exists
only the optomist
and I am the absurd
