Poem
I havent always been this way Im not acting goldly nor is it pretence Im not holier than thou hope this !makes sense Im just changed from the mess i had made Trapped in a world of lustful desires i used to be Thus i cannot stand and say im better that would be fake I know what it means to fall right on your face The shame and guilt that comes after the whole ordeal Maybe you don't understand, let me lay it down for you My life hasnt been that much of a story to tell The plight of the deeds of my youth nearly destroyed me The person i used to be and who i am now are at opposite poles Had i not changed, i would have landed in the hades Living life the way i felt was best for me Dangerously engulfed in the desires of my own flesh Thinking if i like it i can have it Such a crooked line of thinking i know Kissing on everybody and anybody i wanted Riding on lusts of my flesh like no ones business Continued to live as though i done nothing shameless I lived for self and she wanted what she did Losing conscience in the depth of my sin Thinking as long as i don't cross the boundary im fine Justifying myself that im still in line course i done it not Even though inside id feel no less than a harlot Trading holiness for filthiness Life for death why could i not see That i needed change and a light to show the way The road i had taken lead nowhere but unto death Burdened by the guilt of my sin and shame My sin ever before me and testifying against me I lifted mine eyes towards the one who's able to tame To change a wretch and avails sufficient grace to the unworthy He judged me not but instead he showed me mercy He changed me and yes i did change I know im still a working progress but its looking good Course i know he is faithful to complete the work he began Thus when i stand to boast i boast not of my self For its no longer i who lives but him in me Living life anew course he gave me another chance To live right and be justified as worthy of his grace Hope you get it now what im trying to say I needed change and so you do In the enjoyment of your youth dont make a !mistake And live recklessly like i did I got another chance but that's not always the case Live right and live the world behind Lose it all and you will gain whats way better I ain't making bargains but lending a helping hand To the one who is trapped in sinking sand Take this hand and you shall be saved Trust me you shall never be put to shame Change comes when you embrace it We all need change hope now you get it.
