Poem

People are like gemstones...
Some more valuable than the next
Some more tranparent so you can see through them
Some are dark some are light 
People are like gemstones...

All it takes is some bad situation for us to fall out of the ring or necklace we were in place in the thing we call home
And all it takes is someone tougher than us to scratch our skin and leave us flawed even more than we already were
We can be shattered by the pressure put on us whether we go to school or people around us expect too much

We are both judged on how beautiful we look and our value is set by the beauty of the inside and the out....

So i reiterate people...are like...gemstones
And some people see me as a beautiful emerald 
Yet i, the emerald so to speak, was cast aside for what seemed like a pebble 
And now whats left is green shattered fragments of what the emerald used to be that he fell out of what he thought was his secure place in the world and someone tried to fit a rock in its absent space...

Little did they know people like gemstones can't seemlessly replace one another we can be polished off when dirty but never will we be repaired when we shatter on the floor

People are like gems and i just want to shine brightly off of the woman who chooses me to have with her at all times.
