Poem
A Hallows Eve of trick or treating, elaborate costumes, candy eating, Lantern’s dimming upon nightfall, locked doors marks next year’s meeting. My recalling of my day and for the next is what to come, I clean up the dirty dishes while sweeping each and every crumb. Intuition sensing someone watching, waiting for me to fall asleep, Deeply disturbing goosebumps, ignored spirits taunt and creep. Peripheral shadows slowly crossing, a quivering flu like eerie chill, Lurking in the shadows, suddenly pushed, I took a spill. How odd, I lie there helpless,” Must have tripped “ I finally say, Cross held high, up the stairs, prayed paranoia as I lay. Sleeping soundly on Hallows Eve, 2am a walking presence, Eyes open, sudden tears, approached a rotten, putrid essence, Paralyzed by hearts fear pounding, as tars slime engrossed the walls, Earth shaking, darkness finding, beastly moaning fills halls. Eyes closed, a happy life, awakened by panic stricken fright, Growling voices, a death grips echo, doors shut, bolted tight. White jacket, stethoscope, scrubs; appeared nightmares forgotten man, I gaze, chin dropped, defeated; a helpless girl, I once ran. Dawning eyes desperately locked, a chilling dimension sought to belong, Escaped nightly torture, an evil virtue, holding prong. For Hell’s Asylum Doc, he speaks, bedside sinks down slightly, “Paddled electric charges, for your screams, I miss you nightly”. “Back you will come, for Hallows Eve forever to stay, Stolen freedom has now expired, for no one you can repay.” A panicking recollection, I escaped hell, a portal jumped thru, A relentless search by devils compass, as he feasts on hound dog stew. Escaped white walls, babble spoken, tightly wrapped, blood soaked sheet, Perfectly planned my coddled illusion, evils door shut, my devils defeat. Gateways open on Hallows Eve, all evil to walk the ground, My conspired, high jacked escape plan, his nurses promised I’d be found. For Doc he always finds, with a threat for what’s to come, His hand caressing, tight grip, whispering; “For what you did was very dumb”! “This Earth you’ve created, hidden gene pools, baby cry’s, Creatively coded intelligence, so clever, I despise.” Walls of fire, Evil’s fortress, with contempt you had once crossed, Deserting my miserable will, hot ironed thigh, I’ve now embossed.” “One by one, you taught them goodness, for each you will repay, An army built to fight me, multiplying every day.” “The beast asks from where you learned this, to who you secretly pray, Asylums continued torture, with a Hell’s Doc note, you will stay.” In prayer my head bows slowly, for again his will has started, Bringing back an erased memory, my covered tracks to keep me guarded. To hell I’m welcomed back, with intentions of distortion, My penance is subdued strapping, a bone bending contortion. Evil prevails on the devils horizon, locked rusted gates of hell, Exists no time, just pain upheaving, souls once pickled, they sadly fell. Hallows Eve “The Doc” takes roll call, when unlocked I threw the key, Evil searching, for your lights hidden, your times limited just like me.
