Poem
They chuckled as they went past the warning sign, reading "Cursed Swamp". Some of them even did a voodoo dance, beside the swamp. Almost two hours earlier, an old, one-eyed man had stopped their jeep, raising his walking stick in the air. "That's an April Fools' madman!" one of the boys quipped. True, it was Fools' Day, but the old man's face expressed utter terror. "You'll all die, my children!" he shouted, as the jeep raced away. His clothes were covered with mud and stench. Three of the teenagers peed and spat on the swamp, swearing explicit words. The girls were seated together, holding each other in fear. "Something's not right....." one of the girls said. It was dark and cold. After a few moments, bubbles began to appear on a pond. Gradually they increased and became bigger.... Suddenly, vine-like hands grabbed the boys' legs, and dragged them into the swamp. The girls were terrified, as they heard their boyfriends' voices disappearing in the air! The bravest of the girls jumped in the driver's seat, and tried to start the jeep. The engine didn't respond. She tried again and again..... Out of the blues, three ghostly figures covered in mud approached them from the back. "We want youuuuu...." they whispered. The car didn't move, while the figures came closer and closer. Screams echoed as the girls jumped out from the jeep, running into the bushes. The three figures surrounded the jeep, and slowly they seemed to be swallowed by the ground. A tiny swamp had appeared around the jeep and figures!! The girls cried and trembled, as they saw their salvation go with the swamp. Death could be read on their faces....
