"I TRY MY BEST"


I could be bitter or better but I chose to try to be my best-
  I could be a kicker or a fighter, for one time I was depressed.
    I could stand up tall or fall to my knees with regret and shame-
      I could enthrall in an inner brawl and TRY to forget my name.

      I could stay inside my comfort zone where I feel more at ease-
    I could trade my ability to suffer alone in the cold and freeze.
  I could be a defenseless loss cause with no one to count on-
I could be relentless in exhaustion who can’t confront my demon.

I could be a prey to my addiction or get healthy and stay better-
  I could stay afraid of MY affliction or become a wealthy hope spreader.
    I could be a fool or a scapegoat with nowhere else to run and hide-
      I could go back to school and explode with anxiety supplied.

      There are many things that can make or break my confidence-
    There are plenty of things that can take away my competence,
  but I have grown and shown my absolute BEST with much difficulty-
I have known and am blown away as I reflect on such v i c t o r y.
