Did man at first crawl from the sea
Or did he swing down from a tree
Perhaps he came to mate with Eve
Whatever it is you believe
We know he didn't rant and rave
First thing he did was find a cave
He didn't know what was his role
Just knew he'd need a hidey hole

As we study our cavemen past
It's plain to see the die was cast
Caves have always been in our blood
We start digging in our childhood
We dig for ore and dig for shale
And dig for pleasure with a pail
Dig a hole just to pass the time
Or write cave poems with a rhyme

Leave a man alone with a spade
He'll dig a hole like God has made
There's no doubt that the man is brave
Deep down inside he needs a cave
You'll see that in our modern day
As men in mansions work and play
And try their sanity to save
Then build themselves their own "Man Cave"
