As Trump and Hillary steal the show People praise and worship God's own foes We know what scripture states of the rich man As Hillary spreads hate and divides the land Many stand in lines to get their picture To sin against God, the world so eager Scripture warns of the dangers and woes To take no part in evil, yet evil seeds they sew As the crowds grow large and people cheer In the midst must be my Savior so dear For only He is deserving of all this praise To my disappointment, to man, hands are raised Since when did man become the savior of many As the world applause and signs their destiny God sent us someone that He could work through But the enemy was chosen by more than a few Abortions, homosexuals, sin are the choice at the polls Yet the greed of dollar will cost many souls I will never understand this world's passion for greed As God has promised to meet our each and every need What lies ahead for our great nation Chaos, destruction and devastation While many flock to the world's spotlight Jesus behind the scenes ready for flight Many caught up in this crazy election Instead of praying and asking for direction As the world is blinded by sins dazzling lights Jesus will come as a thief in the night Few will be caught up while many will stay As the God of their choice they chose to obey The rich man, feminist and world left behind Scripture was there as they ignored all the signs At this moment God's grace still lingers near Yet many will reject with greed and through fear They will turn from His grace and mercy once more As they turn to carnal man to feel safe and secure Time is running out, oh how I wish my people could see God does not work through evil, evil nailed Him to the tree It is in God we must place all of our trust As we lay down our worries, greed and lust No carnal man can save a nation of evil Only God has the power to save our people I pray the world turns to God before it is too late Before death and destruction becomes our fate Written by: Donetta Harless Thursday, July 12, 2016
