it's slowly becoming my best friend
replacing the one's I go to for help
replacing the one's I keep my faith in
but then again have I really bothered to keep up with them
well less than I should have
Some friend am I...
Well they all are pretty busy
Some are parents, moms and dads
some are soon to be newly weds
some are off living the dreams
we were so determined would come true
some are off to college, going forward being who they want to be
so where do I fit in
Nowhere...regretfully nowhere
I've succumb to my disease again
and for that I pay the price
yet I forgot my wallet
so I pay with my legs
I have barely set foot out of this house
since the day I got my diploma
in merry celebration
saying I will never return
Now I'm wishing for a fish
to return a miss of a life I wasted
Did that even make sense
No it was the only way I could find a rhyme
but rhyming isn't for me
neither is flying
my wings have not yet grown
I paced up and down those winding hallways
for four years
I craved a life of fun and carefree
no responsibilities
I guess this is my repayment
I guess this is my punishment
I have received my punishment
and my credit card of luck
has been shredded and canceled
Are you happy now
I never was
never have been
so goodbye
I waste in Georgia one more day

I've spilled all the contents in my head
I've spilled all the words I could muster
for my inspiration, my motivation
it has all fallen away again
I've lost it again
and don't know where I last put it
and without it I'm lost

I'm not a wolf with a rose
I'm not a prince disguised as a peasant
I'm not a hooded silhouette
I'm not a ghost nor a phantom in a forgotten opera
I'm not a descendant of an ill famed king
who's the most like me
