Poem
A Mans Lament By Robert (Bob) Moore© Is your sweet wife a neat freak, drives you crazy every day you get something off the shelf, and she puts it away you think that you have lost your mind, it happens very quick and you start to doubt you did it, your mind just played a trick Everything goes back again, by the end of every day she’ll need that in the morning, but for now it goes away its not something I care about, she does it for herself back in the box, where it belongs, or maybe on the shelf The study belongs to both of us, so I keep that halfway neat there’s lots of wires and plugs and things, and I leave books on the seat she still goes in to fix it up, the way that it should be but not as much as other rooms, I call it OCD The one place I can call my own, is out back in my shed she rarely ever comes out there, and when she does, the dread is written large across her face, but this place is for me she does not say a word about the chaos she can see There’s bits of wood, and tools and things, still sitting on the bench and from last time I fixed the taps, she still can see the wrench but I may need these things tomorrow, so right there they will stay and if its not tomorrow, it could be another day so we are both happy, and our boundaries keep within she can keep our lovely house, as neat as a new pin and I will have my man cave, to do what I must do live with chaos and uncertainty, of what’s the next best thing to do.
