Life Contest Sponsor: Janice Thompson Living an existence with vitality and motivation Inner demons fought with everything I’ve learned Feeling lost and found can sure cause frustration Every day is a new lesson and a hard penny earned What is life? I live a simple life. A life of laughter and of sorrow. The more I seek the more I learn, and the more I learn the more I grow. My existence has created mountains of destinies. One destiny for each part of my life. My first destiny lies within the depth of the soul I share with my Nicholas. My sweet man, who saved me from darkness at such a young age. See, we shall never part ways and we shall always be nothing but just…us. My second destiny lives inside the inner most core of my being. My sweet Ella Rose has given me purpose and motivation to be better. Better as a woman, wife and especially a mother. For without my baby girl I would not have lived this long. Without my baby girl I would have no reason to keep moving on. My third destiny resides inside the balance of harmony I share with my family. My parents are adored by many and I am one of them. My siblings remind me of lilac bushes in the spring and they give me contentment and joy that I hold deep inside my heart. See, my sister passed away five years ago and I have realized I will never get that friendship back. Life is too short to give up. -such is sorrow. -such is remorse. -such is life…. As time unfolds its corners, ages of generations come and pass. Living is not worth love if there is no happiness with giving. All my tomorrows release a fresh breath of air giving constant positive reinforcement towards my confidence. In a very quick amount of time, my lifeline has been growing inside me since the day I was born. I was born to love the Lord; for He gave me a gift called life and I shall never take that for granted. All my destinies will prevail in the end and when I die I shall have lived a wonderful life uncommon than anyone else. For I shall have been smiling in the rain and laughing in the storms. Twists and curves come and pass and I have always taken care of myself and my family. Life is too short to give up. -such is smiles -such is delightment -such is life… sorrow may occur life is too short to give up live with smiles not frowns Poem Form: Acrostic, followed by Prose, followed by a Senyru Date Written: May 14, 2016
