It's always the same things Late quiet lonely nights Lyrics to those sweet slow country songs Memories of u I can't escape Trying time and time again to let u go Begging and pleading with my heart Wishing I could erase every memory of you I ever owned And still in the back of my mind you remain A small piece of my heart you still hold No answers as to why No way to do anything about it Even as I have moved on with my life So sure that if I could Your memory would no longer linger Wrong again As you live your life and I live mine Your memories aren't as easy to erase As the pictures I held onto for so long My heart no longer belongs to u Yet still there are so many things I can recall As if they were only yday I've done all that I can To take away all that reminded me of u Even w/o them there Still u cross my mind Of that I have no control No amount of time nor space Seems to get me where I hope to be As far from u as I've ever been Still it doesn’t seem like long ago I still remember our 1st kiss And how in u I found not only love but also a friend Since the first sight of you I felt drawn to you It's been almost 4 years Yet the memory of the that 1st day Is burned into my mind Even after all this time It's a day I just can't forget I wonder if you remember it as well as I If it ever crosses your mind Thoughts I fight to escape But a grasp on me they keep Secrets I keep buried deep inside I don't dare to share with anyone Only makes me miss my old friend more From u no secrets kept Always so easy to tell u What was on my mind Since then I don't let anyone get that close Cuz with u I learned The hardest heartbreaks Tho u may never recover U learn to live with But the biggest thing I learned Is no matter how big the bond u may share No matter how many promises are made No matter how much 1 may mean Any1 at any given point and time Can chose to change their mind Chose to walk away No 1 person has to stay Things aren't written in stone They can be there 1 day And gone the next Some harder to lose than others But regardless of the pain Memories will always remain Even when the people in them change You still have a choice to make You can let the pain bring down Let it break from the inside out Or you can learn to bury it deep inside And find a way to get on with your life But memories once shared Especially with the ones you hold dear No matter how far from them you try to run No matter where you try to hide Those memories of yours will never disappear!
