You should offer more.
I'm frustrated. Disappointed. Angry.
You pursue your denial.
Instead, you should acknowledge me.
No matter what you believe.
No matter how long you wait.
I won't call you.
I detest the taste of your bait.
I hear nothing.
Weak messages, hiding hate.
You really think I'll change?
To me, that's insane.
I am the "enchanted boy".
Birthed different. Something strange.
This has been me, all along.
I feared your judgment.
I didn't feel safe. I didn't belong.
Now, there is a gulf existing.
You and me subsisting, broken.
Your dogma driving wedge,
since my truth was spoken.
Acidic months, dissolving my resolve.
Tortured nights, dealing with this.
Companion of steps one, three, and four.
I'm knocking on door two, and I'm pissed.
I do not understand.
How could you say those things?
Have you no idea,
the damage a sentence brings?
I am awful, you say.
I am confused you think.
Because I am different than you?
Because I hate green, preferring pink?
You told me you couldn't love me.
Not the same as yesterday.
Because I don't acquiesce
to your "hetero" way?
I trusted you with the truth!
I let you see all that I am!
You rejected me, harshly.
You cruelly, called it a sin.
So...wait all you want,
while I live my life.
You cut me to bone.
Those are my tears on your knife.
I am no longer your son.
I am no longer a boy.
I am a beautiful, good man.
Dismissed, as a broken toy.
I possess a thing of wonder.
I am a force of nature.
I am evolving.
A heavenly designed creature.
I am dangerous.
I am deep.
I am a risen river.
A hungry, wounded wolf,
disturbed from his sleep.
No matter what is in your mind.
No matter what you say.
No matter how rooted you kneel.
No manner in which you pray.
This is exactly who I am,
and I am proud I was born this way.
I know you are older.
I see you, set in your ways.
But, I'll light this world on fire,
stoking my heart's desire.
I will live to fulfillment.
Owning. True to self.
Day after day after days.
