Poem
Spin that golden ball, let those lucky numbers to fall my way, Scratch me a shiny ticket for easy cash living, I’m in it to win After all, thus so I may achieve my lottery dreaming fantasy’s, To travel beyond these shores of my humble birth! I’d quite my nine to five route, smash that time clock that Daily mocks at me, I’d simply walk away from the daily strife, And pack my bags for a distant paradise! No more will I rely or depend on that four wheeled piece Of junk, that spends more time in the neighbor maintenance Garage then on the actual road, no way, I’d be riding In a red racing machine, made to my strict specifications Long and lean, a mean road warrior with speed to spare! The whole world would be my oyster to crack open, I’d gather the pearls of the orient, the gems of Paris To sparkle around my bare neck, and walk the unexplored Paths beyond those mystic mountains of the alpine peaks In the Netherlands! My family and friends would weep, when are you coming Home, but adventure is a wild voice that whispers unto Mine inner soul, lost unto the vast dream, I’m a drifter Of the spirit castaway, and my feet are placed on a venue Less traveled! Flights to the fantasy, I’m on a gleaming cloud set to soar, Never to land except where I’ve chosen, oh call me inspirations Forsaken I’d not care at all, but instead I’ll get aboard a starship And travel to a distant star’s milky way, forever lost In space itself! A post office box can receive all those bills left unpaid, for I’ll Be long gone and set at some world travelers misbegotten pace, Why not let’s throw cause to the four winds, I’d love to visit The land down under, Australia with its crystal clear waters, And vintage pioneering spirit! But yet to set sail across the ocean blue, and behold the many Wonders of the sea, oh this would be the ultimate adventure, To this lottery seeking adventurer, riding the rippling crest Of the shimmering waters of deepest aquatic, what a wondrous Journey that would be! But for now I’m just that simply person, whose dreams are Waiting for that special tickets passport to be called, a lottery Dreaming kindred spirit amongst millions, illusions grasping Hopeful waiting for this mirage to become reality’s realism, Someday I’ll awaken, this dreamer whom wishes to soar! BY: CHERYL ANNA DUNN DEDICATED TO MY SISTER DOWN UNDER VERA SOMEDAY WE'LL WIN MY FRIEND
