Poem
There was a little boy His name was Godot He was searching for God Since the moment he was born He was lying in a crib Woven from branches Of dry hand-picked weeds Staring in to his mother’s eyes Listening to soft lullaby Her eyes were as blue as sky That was shining behind Her head bent over the crib And he thought God must be in these eyes And he stared hypnotized At them till he fell asleep He was running a meadow Filled with field flowers Blooming in magnificent Bright colors all over The floral carpet covered Ground till the horizon He inhaled the heavenly scent Deep in to his lungs He thought mesmerized God must be in those fields He fell down on the ground And smell the drunken scent Spread wide around Till he slipped in a deep Overpowering sleep He was playing with boys Hide and seek one day He was running to hide in the woods far away Breathless barefooted As fast as he could Till he noticed he was lost In the dense woods Scared and tired he sat Under a blooming tree And heard little birds Chirping above his head He got up and saw a nest Filled with little chicks Staring at him with dark eyes As dark as midnight sky With their yellow mouths Open wide waiting for him To fill them with pray And he thought that God Must be in that little nest A few years went by And one sunny day He saw a girl in a white dress Climbing a steep hill Where he was staring at sky He never seen anything So beautiful and unreal His mind went blank Overwhelmed by a pull He fell down on the ground Rolling towards the foothill He fell deeply in love With that ethereal girl Who had green eyes As deep as midnight sky On the fool moon Myriad of shiny stars Flew over his head He thought God must be In those magnetic eyes Burning with passion He was overpowered With lust and possession Then he had to go to war Where things that he saw Were too terrible To comprehend Rivers of blood floating Towards horizon Bodies rotting in sun rising The day going dark Because of the Clouds of smoke Of burning alive And the smell of death Covering the earth The moans of dying And begging for help And he thought God must have Abandoned the earth He mourned for the rest Of his life in distress Never opened his mouth Never said a word He was mourning for God That abandoned this earth Till the day that he died And when he died He felt empty and sad He did not find God No matter how hard he tried In all places he could think of So Intensely and so deep He was lying there still and cold For eternity to come and go Emotionless and indifferent Not looking for God anymore And then one day When eternity passed by He saw a face in front of him Gazing with deep Like Baikal lake eyes With faint disappearing smile He stared in those eyes Till he started to drawn In the depth of the sky That was reflected in those eyes And his heart that was frozen For all those years Started beating slowly again Godot was looking for God In all the wrong places And couldn't find him While he was in his heart But Godot did not know that He had God living inside Him all the time But it took an eternity For him to understand
