Poem
My husband left me yesterday and never said a word; I asked him to forgive me and this is what I heard. “I was about to ask you for five dollars, I don’t care about you; How you feel, what you need and things you are going through.” The reason he is leaving is because I stayed out all night long, He will not take responsibility: for what he said was wrong, He said he did not love me; then he called it a joke; There is power in his mouth and tongue, and that is what he spoke. That word he spoke made me want to leave and not see him again; I had to repent and come home ask for forgiveness before I fell into sin. Then he called his family, took his bags to leave; If only someone would tell him: to his wife he should cleave. No one told him to leave Cairo and go home to his wife; To help straighten the marriage and fix this precious life. A man should love his wife; like Jesus loved the Church, He shouldn’t pack his bags to run, but stay and make it work. Jesus would never leave, nor would He forsake; He would accept me if I repent; my heart He would not break. God has said that satan came to kill, steal and destroy, My husband said he’s waiting on God; while satan is stealing joy. God has given wisdom and offered knowledge too, But above all He said get understanding to know just what to do. I had nowhere to go, no one to talk to or to tell, But he could run home to mom and dad and leave me catching hell. He did not have to leave this way, I asked him not to go. He said he’d be gone for a long time and stay up in Cairo. It’s no bother that he is gone; I just want his love; And he can love me from anywhere, like God does from above. He no longer calls me, he doesn’t hear my voice, We didn’t have to get married, he could have stayed in Cairo by choice. We got married because he said he wasn’t going anywhere. Now he’s gone all the time; I have no one I care to share. If my staying out so late has made him this upset, We should sit down and talk to forgive and redirect; The energy and time he has, that we are losing every day, If we gather together in God’s name He will show a better way. All of this time and energy for thinking is just so much waste, He needs to come home make things right and get in his place. And if he is ready to end it and he is ready to go, I will accept whatever he wants so he can be in Cairo He said he didn’t believe in divorce he would always be married; Yet it is in Cairo he has for so long tarried.
