Poem
Time On Myside You may always think that you have forever or could be granted some extra time; how cleaver. But no one knows what the future holds, or how much time you really have left to grab a hold. You can’t waste one second, minute, hour, day, week, month or year, because time dosen’t wait and you’ll be stuck still living in fear. Nobody knows how much time we have left to be with the people we love and spending our time together is so much better than watching from above. We need to live our lives for today, to be able to grow old to watch our Grandchildren play. We can take the time to fix any mistakes that we have made, but why put off tomorrow what we can start right now- we can start today. In the blink of an eye, everything can change, things we can’t take back, you may be given no time to fix it, and even less time to react. You’ll find no place for you to run and hide and as time slips away, you will come to realize that you’ve caused time to not be on your side. So STOP NOW, and live your life for today with who you want beside you and who you need to stay. There are so few tomorrows left for you and for me. When it’s time you’ll come to see that you might not be the person that you’ve always thought you’d be. As you continue putting things off and messing around, every life has a soundtrack playing , but you can’t hear your sound. It’s then when you realize that your life is ticking away, faster and faster, every single day. Now your starting to see that tomorrow is too late for you to stand in line, you took too long to hesitate. It’s way too late to cry, so you take a deep breath and let out a long sigh. Then turn around, it’s still so quiet, there is no sound. When you think it’s not the way you ‘ve always thought it to be, you take a moment to clear yourhead, and wipe your eyes to see. Life was never waiting for you, it’s way past the time to make up your mind; open your eyes now, or choose to remain blind. You have to fix the problems that time has left behind, they are frozen inside of you and stuck within your mind. You can’t take away the mistakes that were made yesterday, but you can confront and fix anything that starts as of today. Do you want to sleep in day after day? Should you go to church, ask for forgiveness and start to pray? Or do you want to watch your children as time ticks away, sit around and wait for you to make time to play? Is it finally time to take your stand? Are you ready to reach out and grab that helpful hand? As you choose to grab ahold, take the advice I’ve always been told…. It’s there for me to choose to live, hear the message and take the help that it can give. As I stand and take my first strides, this is the moment I’m choosing to stay alive. I’ve finally made the right choice and as I do I want to share my voice. It has definitely been a bumpy ride, but now I’ve earned some extra Time On Myside. Nikki Wheeler 3/2016
