The Table "The Difference Between Heaven and Hell!" A man found himself standing before the Pearly Gates of Heaven. He stepped out of line and walked over to the gates to get a closer look into Heaven! What he saw astounded him! He saw the most beautiful blue sky the human eyes had ever seen! The trees and the grass were the lushest green that green could ever be. All the birds were singing their best and the lions were strolling peacefully with the lambs. He could neither believe what his eyes were seeing nor what his ears were hearing! Off in the distance though he could see what appeared to be a long table stretching as far west as the eyes could see and the same as far east. It looked as though there were people sitting on both sides of this table. The gatekeeper announced that it was his turn to enter. He walked up to the Gatekeeper and asked "Gatekeeper, I am really thankful to be here at the Gates of Heaven but if it is at all possible, may I see what it would have been like to have gone to Hell?" The gatekeeper smiled and said "Sure, see you soon!" A mist came up and he could see nothing! When the mist cleared, he found himself standing in front of the exact same Pearly Gates. He pushed the gate open a bit and walked in. The sky was the exact same beautiful blue and the trees and grass of nature were their same lush filled green. The melody of the singing birds and the frolicking of the lions and the lambs were exactly the same as in Heaven! Once again off in the distance he could see this table that went as far to the left and out of sight as to the right and out of sight. As he walked closer to get a better look he could see that on this table was any and everything you would ever want to enjoy at a feast! "EVERYTHING!!! - EVERYTHING!!! - EVERYTHING!!! - EV...ER...Y...THING!!!" He could see that there were people sitting on both sides of this table and they all had their hands full of food to eat! They were holding the food right in their hands! But as he got closer he could hear loud uncontrollable sobbing, screaming and the most un-describable wails of despair the human ears had ever heard! When he came into full view he was really taken aback because every single person had on a coat of wood that kept their arms extended away in front of themselves. Amidst all this beauty, wonderful serenity and a feast truly for the gods, the people's wooden coats allowed them to grasp all that they wanted but no one...NO ONE was able to feed him or herself in any way! The means to satisfy the hunger was in abundance but the hunger would NEVER, NEVER, EVER be sated! The cries and wails of despair became more than he could bear and he walked back out, shut the gate and said to the Gatekeeper "I've seen and heard enough, I'm ready to return!" The Gatekeeper smiled and said "See you soon!" and the mist reappeared! When the mist cleared away, here he was standing in front of the same Pearly Gates as he had started his journey from. As he opened the gates and walked in the sound of the birds was as melodic as ever! The beautiful blue sky matched by the emerald green beauty of nature was the perfect environment for the lambs and lions to lovingly frolic. Again in the distance he could see this table laden with every type of food for a feast. But as he got closer he could hear the sound of deep, throaty laughter, squeals of delight, voices in harmony singing with JOY and ALL of these people---every single one of them was wearing a "WOODEN COAT" that kept their arms extended away in front of their bodies. He could see that they all had something in both hands and yet everyone.....EVERYONE was as happy and joyous as they had been told Heaven would be!!! There was an empty seat at the table and it was his. As he walked over to sit down, another person walked up to this "feast table" on the other side and sat down at the same time. At ONCE the wooden coats enveloped them and had their arms extended out in front of them just like the others. It was then that he observed the gesture that defined the difference between Heaven and Hell! Whereas in "Hell" the unhappiness and always present despair was the result of having everything one could ever want, in the grasp of one's hands, and still never...NEVER be able to feed oneself! Whereas in "Heaven", the ecstatic JOY, the uncontrollable laughter and the abundant love was from people under the exact same "restrictive wooden coats" who had learned how to lean across the table and............. "feed each other!!!" (WTA-IV)
