Poem
> This is the first poem I ever wrote. It was titled Broomfield, and along with one titled Nurses, was left at the Broomfield hospital where I had my cancerous tumour (a large Gist) removed and I guess half of my stomach. in May 2012 Broomfield I've got a tumour inside me, it's got roots just like a tree. Growing all the time no doubt. Specialists confirm it must come out. I've had scopes cameras too, look inside just to view. Where is it? How does it lay? Can we get it out some way? So here at Broomfield I do be, where specialists finally now agree. One thing sure there is no doubt. Tomorrow they'll try and take it out. So as I lay upon this bed, thoughts racing through my worried head. The tumors big, they all say so. Let's to the theatre and start the show. As they wheeled in my bed, to the theatre as I said. The team assembled all for me, lights, camera, action all wait to see. Here I am my entrance true, was not as big as I passed through. 'Good morning anesthetist,' my first line. He smiled and said, 'you are on time. 'At least I'm here, what's my next cue? Keeping still's not hard to do.' They fiddled with my arm and hand. 'Your veins are big, that's just grand.' 'I know I've had them a long time.' I looked him in the eye to say. Forgot my line and drifted away. I tried to add the poem Nurses, alas the character count beat me , perhaps next time. I was humbled by the number of nurses who thanked me for writing about them in such a nice manner. I think they were at a low ebb. I only hope the poems cheered them up a little. On that note i expect i will have to add it now. Stanley (The mad Author)<
