For Dad.


I always thought I'd like to marry a man just like my Daddy
I tried it once,and realised,I was'nt truely happy,
But I know now,there can never be another just like you
And I'm so happy just to know,your love for me is true.
For no-one else could ever compete,with your many loving ways,
And I'll never regret or forget,my childhood and youthful days.
For home was where the heart is,and that was there with you,
And if I never told you that,it's because I never knew.
For I was very silly,and I never took the time,
To sit and really appreciate,a loving Father as mine.
For through the years,I toyed around,and let you down a lot,
But through those years,you loved me still,and your love I've never forgot.
I know I used and abused that too,and for that I'm truely sorry,
I hope and pray,you'll forgive me Dad,for all the unwanted worry.
So,now I know and realise,my love for you my Father
And I don't think that in this world,for a Dad that I would rather.
