The Bangladeshi Flood It is the latest worrying news to hit this troubled nation... There is a growing bewilderment and fast rising indignation.... Ever since the Home Minister proudly announced to the nation... Malaysia is in urgent need of unskilled and semiskilled workers... Thank the government, we are importing 1.5 million Bangladeshi workers .. Don't blame the government, we heed the demands from the industrial sector.. According to the learned Minister, the local youths are very difficult... They shy away from all 3D jobs that are Dirty, Dangerous and Difficult.. Going by him, the local youths are lazy and they are not committed.... A fellow Minister spouted comments that are much more wicked.... She declared, locals can't stand very long or work very long hours... They can't work as welders or do hard labor, they cannot take stress... Omigod, such undignified statements coming from the mouth of a Minister.. When in truth, there are many more other equivocal reasons in this matter... Foremost of all, raise the minimum pay for all those 3D jobs available... Has the Minister any grey matter, see how locals throng over to our neighbor.. There in neighboring Singapore, Malaysians are diligently into 3D labor... They brave the daily traffic nightmare at the Causeway for wages much better... As a man in the street, using a little grey cell over this matter... Banking on cheap foreign labor is not a smart move altogether.. When a government opts for imported labor, the locals will surely suffer... The wages are kept low and there are special perks for the foreign labor... Merely because they are cheap labor and they are large in numbers.. The locals cannot compete, the wages is not enough for family members... Most galling of all, why on earth does this government import low labor... Government to government, why help settle unemployment problem... Welcoming foreign labor to this beloved land while locals are pushed aside.. Why suppress local wages in order that foreign labor will come and thrive... Look towards mighty little Singapore, a fore runner in human resources... Will local politicians awake from their slumber and emulate Singapore... 1.5 million Bangladeshi workers coming ashore here in Malaysia... 1.5 million less unemployment problem over there in Bangladesh the nation.. 1.5 million foreigners to top off the many illegals scattered across this nation.. 1.5 million foreigners to partake in the fast shrivelling economic pie....
