Poem

We all have a past, the place we come from
All housing regrets and things we should've done
Our lives we've lived, some better that others
And have had along the way both triumphs and shutters
My tale of woe is mine and mine alone
Just as you are the sole keeper of your own 
Addiction, Abuse, Illness or Self-Destruction 
Grief or Longing, Loss of Faith or Repercussion
The ways that the world decides to come at us
Matter very little when in yourself you learn to trust
There are the strong who make their way out
Without hesitation and without any doubts
But the strongest are those who suffer the most
And fight for tomorrow still with a future unknown 
Rock Bottome hit the hardest not by circumstance 
But by the impacts of state-of-mind and what it left in my hands
The bad situation had nothing on that 
The places my mind wandered and where my heart was at
So if state-of-mind was going to be my undoing 
Then of course to turn it would mean my own life I'd be saving 
My Rock Bottom came in the form of a lost soul
The turn around coming as finding something to grab hold
The future! A better and brighter life! was my beacon in the night
For myself and my children and of course to spite
All the negativity, all the wrongs of the past
To show the world I was here for a reason and to grow happiness that'd last
And so I came out of it on the other side
Sticking it to Rock Bottom with a new and improved STATE-OF-MIND!!!
