Poem
Over the passing years only pain reached her ears his words struck her deep, there was no day they would seize each day she cleaned up, but she couldn't wash the hurt away in her memory of him it was all the horrible things he would say times that were happy barely scratched the surface she put on a happy show, just like a circus everything was constant so it kept on going yet nothing was promised the love was gone in her heart of gold she kept her smile bright in her weakened soul she cried alone at night the stars didn't seem so far away after all she felt herself drift with the names that he would call they were never nice but she kept hanging on she thought maybe just once she could re-tune his song but he kept on playing, it was on a loop she tried to block it out, but it wasn't going to do his words finally stung as he grabbed her wrist he twisted her, he pulled, he pushed shes crying for all the effort that she wasted shes afraid for his eyes, they hold so much hatred she cant breathe with his hands around her neck she silently pleads, but she cant fight back 'leave my mommy alone' she hears in the distance even the little voice couldn't stop this man that was hell bent he's telling her things she only wishes she could erase he's yelling, he's mean, the devils in his face she swallows hard as he releases her why is he so mean she wasn't sure she lie there in her wave of tears she felt so empty none of it was clear her shower washes away only half of the hurt she dries her face and still feels like dirt she stares in the mirror and sees the marks in her eyes the tears start shes sick, shes ill, nothing can compare shes equipped to kill life isnt fair she dressed slowly careful of her selection she cringes knowing he will want affection her thoughts are a million of miles away as he touches her hair she feels so disconnected knowing he doesn't really care her physical presence is just a facade he asks if shes okay, she silently nods her mind is racing wanting to escape he starts to slowly touch her face she wants to cry, but holds back her tears this isn't love this man she fears he is overbearing as he holds her close her cringe is growing, she feels so gross he tells her he is sorry that its the last fight shes already knows this story is a lie hes touching her body, but gently this time shes desperately trying to block him out of her mind she feels destroyed and helpless her pain is a void, but her scars are countless
