Poem
A tribute . . . So many poets have come and gone from this beautiful site, And each has left some kind of mark upon my soul; But there is one poet, who for me will be forever in my heart, And that is Linda-Marie, our Sweetheart, our true angel. Linda-Marie knew she was dying when she wrote her last poem, It begins, "floating through a corridor between two different worlds:" She died with poetry in her heart and soul, and God took her to heaven And it ends, "eternity is awesome with unending interludes ...." Rest in peace, Linda-Marie, the Sweetheart of Poetry Soup, When I think of you, I weep and then I must smile; You were such a good friend to me and a great poet too, So, thoughtful, so warm, with such compassion for all. With you by my side this journey was meaningful for me, We found that we shared so many of life's sad hardships; No two, were ever so much alike and so much different, We were poetic sisters, our bond is forever eternal. Like a budding flower, our friendship was slow to bloom, Then like a perfect red rose, it was such a beautiful thing; And we would always say that no matter where life took us, We would be, and then God took you home to him. When I thought of you, I erased the miles that separate, You were always near to my heart, my mirror reflection; Always poetically creative, oh how we shared poetry, When I myself was deathly sick, you were there for me. With strength and determination, you fought your illness, Your red rose petals still touch me and soothe my tears; And your beautiful pen still graces the pages of Poetry Soup, You left us your gift of words, they will linger always. You suffered thorns in your life but now you are at peace, You are an angel spirit drifting who fills my weeping soul; Linda-Marie your essence is still felt on this site every single day, God took you home, but your journey is still . . . ________________________ August 2015 Poetry/Verse/Tribute/Where Do Poets Go Copyright Protected, ID 15-750-559-0 All Rights Reserved.
