Poem
I have been burned by the guilt of my own ghost for so long. As I finally gave up and look to the heavens for help my life was transformed. For as I looked up to God he began to make me look within myself. Inside I found a lot of pain that I've been running from my whole life. Now I understand that the pain has been a summons from my soul to see what was really going on and a demand for action. Then at the moment of greatest despair, when I thought all was lost, Jesus came beside me and with him I broke through the pain instead of breaking down. I have learned that we are healed of a suffering only by experiencing it to the fullest. We can spend a lifetime trying to hide from it, but it wasn't until I expose my pain and gave it up to heaven that I learn to my surprise God can enter us through our wounds. He is greatest through our weaknesses come no one is exempt. No one can escape, some event, some unseen truth, some simple twist of fate brings each one of us face to face with our own private horror. Some of us break and then some of us see the other side. It is at these times that our resources, inner and outer, are pushed beyond foreseeable limits. It is that these times of hitting rock bottom that we are giving a test we can't endure alone. It was here that I was given the direct experience of a power greater than myself. I now know God sends patient angels to appear from the darkened corners of this world we live in. I promise you that prayer screamed from the soul are answered in miracles of the heart. It is through forgiveness that wounds are healed and the awful burden of the past his cast off your shoulders for good. When we cease blaming circumstances, we begin to live responsibly. When we feast blaming our faith for where we are, we become free to embrace life and begin to learn of the gifts and blessings waiting for each of God's children. We have traveled in the dark for a long time. Yet we can blossom even there, with faith and the like to come which is Jesus Christ. As the shadows yield to the light, we can learn that grace happens. We can be carried by grace to a new way of seeing and being. Then we can be confident that on the perilous road to our home eternal, we can live in that grace. We also know that the awareness of grace is a gift that must be acknowledged daily and grows when shared. Never forget that once you allow Jesus into your heart we are not alone anymore. We are empowered and going home gracefully. It is in simply learning to live each day under God's grace that we are enlightened and transformed in ways we never dreamed possible. By this empowerment of the Spirit of God as we give Jesus control over our lives there is integrity, trust, joy, confidence, unity, generosity, forgiveness, compassion, harmony, stability, and of course grace. And these are just the beginning!
